Our Probate and Full Administration Services
Our unique probate service has been featured in six national newspapers ‘see here’ and which? Money Magazine. Our Probate Services are specifically designed to ensure that you save money and get top quality advice from a leading specialist law firm.
Qualified and Regulated Solicitors
We only use qualified and regulated estate administration specialist solicitors for our fixed price probate services. Unlike some other probate providers, that are unqualified and unregulated, Final Duties offer the security of a solicitor dealing with probate at a fair fixed cost.
Choose the service that suits you
We offer probate only and full estate administration services, as well as additional legal and administration services. This means you get to decide how much assistance with probate you would like. We can handle just the paperwork or we can handle everything, you decide.
Guaranteed Fixed Fee Probate
The fees for all of our probate and estate administration services are agreed upfront before any work takes place so you know from the onset what you are going to pay. If you decide you need more assistance we will always provide you with the cost first.
How it Works
Step 1 Get a fixed fee probate Quote
It only takes approximately 10 – 15 minutes with one of our expert probate advisors to receive a free no-obligation fixed fee probate Quotation. Take a look at our Q&A section below to find out which price you will pay.
As part of our probate service, we will provide you with a detailed written quotation free of charge and without obligation. This is done over the telephone; no one will visit you and you will be left in peace to decide whether to accept our quotation. We believe that our service and competitive prices will sell itself.
Step 2 Instruct your Solicitor
Once you accept the guaranteed fixed fee probate quote your qualified and regulated solicitor will be instructed straight away and will call you to get things started on the same day.
Your Solicitor will complete the relevant probate and Inheritance tax applications and submit them to the probate registry on your behalf.
Step 3 Receive your Grant of Probate
Once your solicitor has obtained the grant of probate they will send it to you so you can complete the estate administration and distribution.
Full Estate Administration Services
How it works
Step 1 Get a Quote
For our Full estate administration service our probate experts take comprehensive details of the estate at the outset so that we can provide a fixed fee written probate quotation that is guaranteed not to increase unless the details of the estate change. It only takes approximately 10 – 15 minutes with one of our expert probate advisors to receive a free no-obligation fixed fee probate Quotation.
Step 2 Instruct your Solicitor
Once you accept the guaranteed fixed fee probate quote your qualified and regulated solicitor will be instructed straight away. There’s no upfront cost for our Full administrative service and your selected solicitor will call you on the same day to get things started.
Step 3 Your solicitor will administer the estate
Your solicitor will carry out the complete administration of the estate on your behalf. You will be given a designated case handler who will keep you regularly updated with the progress of the estate administration via email or phone.
Step 4 Your Solicitor will distribute the estate
Once probate has been granted and the estate has been settled your solicitor will distribute the estate to the beneficiaries and provide you with a full set of estate accounts so you can see exactly what was in the estate and how it was distributed.
Our fixed fee quotation will include a 24 point schedule for our low-cost probate and full estate administration service. This schedule sets out exactly what service you will receive and a breakdown of all other charges and disbursements. Possible disbursements that we are able to identify early on in our fact-finding process are detailed in our quote.

You will deal directly with your solicitor just as if you had instructed them yourself. Your solicitor will be regulated by the SRA (Solicitors Regulatory Authority) or the CLC (The Specialist Property regulator) and because of this, you will be protected by their code of conduct and compensation scheme.
Rest assured that our solicitors are some of the most experienced probate solicitors in the country. They are handpicked and monitored by our full-time customer service team to ensure they are delivering on their promises and ensuring they are working to our strict service levels. If you are unhappy with the solicitor we have selected you should let us know as soon as possible. If it’s still early in the process, we will simply move your case to another solicitor on our panel who will carry out the work at the same fixed rate fee.
At Final Duties, we have designed our own probate fees model that goes against the traditional hourly rates and percentage charging systems often used in the probate industry. Bank probate service fees often exceed 4% of the estate’s value and most Solicitors work on a cost per hour plus a percentage of the estate.
We think that this is grossly unfair. Using our own probate fee model we are able to provide our clients with a fair fixed fee probate service without sacrificing quality. Our quotation is based on a fair estimate of the number of hours work required, rather than a percentage of the estate’s value.
As our low-cost probate fee model only takes into account the actual work involved in administering an estate and not its value, estates of a higher value are not penalised as they would be under a percentage charging structure. It also means that even if the value of the estate increases our fees won’t change.
An example of how our fee model works would be when there are 2 estates, one with a value of £200,000 and another with a value of £300,000 but both estates consist of one property, one bank account and identical distribution then the fees would be the same.
