Applying for Probate
Applying for probate is the procedure you go through if you’re managing the estate of someone who has recently passed away. It gives you the right to distribute the estate following the deceased’s wishes. Inheritance Tax forms are part of the process even if the estate doesn’t owe Inheritance Tax.
If the person has left a will they have normally added one or more ‘executors’ who can apply for probate.
